District Employee Receives State Certification


Javonne Omar Montgomery has successfully completed a Building Operator Certification Level 1 training course and earned the Building Operator Certification Level 1 Training Certificate of Completion.

This training provides attendees with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively operate any type of facility to include detail assessments of environment control, air quality control and structure control.

In the seventeen years that Montgomery has worked in Williamsburg County School District, he has worked four years within the Department of Facilities Management and Operations where he specialized in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning and Electricity. He taught Electricity at the Hemingway Career and Technology Center for ten years and worked for three years in district-level management. He also coached Football and Track at Hemingway High School.

Montgomery shared that it is very important to him to remain updated with new regulations in the field of Building Management, and he believes that it is imperative to continue to learn in order to provide quality service in the areas where he is responsible. “It is necessary to better myself in the field that I work. Everything is always changing and evolving, and I must make sure that I am always at the top of my game,” Montgomery said.
