CE Murray Middle School visited Nephron Pharmaceuticals located in West Columbia, SC on November 15, 2019. The visit was part of the Manufacturing Day that took place in the district on October 31, 2019.
The students had the opportunity to tour the facilities to see what all is done at the locations. Nephron Pharmaceuticals believes in giving back. The CEO, Lou Kennedy, extended an open invitation to forty students from CE Murray Middle.
Nephron is proud to be innovators, which is why they are committed to sharing their expertise in advancing the pharmaceutical industry. Nephron is proud to call South Carolina home, which is why they are also committed to giving back to their communities.
Nephron’s generic products help individuals with respiratory conditions. Some of their products relax the muscles around the airways and others prevent muscles from contracting, both helping individuals breathe better. The company’s state-of-the-art facility houses industry leading technology that minimizes contamination and ensures sterility.
The students were able to see how the medicines are tested, coded, labeled, and packaged.
Special thanks to Eileen Patonay, James Richter, and the SCMA (South Carolina Manufacturing Alliance) for sponsoring the students.
