The ACP will provide a discount of up to $30 on internet bills for households that meet income eligibility requirements.
A household is eligible if one member of the household:
- Has an income that is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or Lifeline. Those who are already qualified for Lifeline do not need to re-apply.
- Approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision in the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, or 2021-2022 school year.
- Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.
Those who have questions as to whether they meet the above criteria can go to https://acpbenefit.org/do-i-qualify/.
To enroll in the ACP with FTC, participants must first be approved under the National Verifier at https://www.ACPBenefit.org/how-to-apply. Once approved, participants need to take their paperwork by one of FTC’s seven stores.
The credit, which will be placed directly on the applicants’ monthly bill, can be applied to any FTC internet plan. If the monthly rate exceeds the $30, the applicant will be required to pay the difference. If the rate falls below $30, the credit will be the total amount of the plan. The normal security deposit process is being waived for the ACP.
The ACP is non-transferable and limited to one monthly internet discount per household. If the program ends, or when a household is no longer eligible, subscribers will be subject to the provider’s regular rates, terms, and conditions.
For more information visit https://www.fcc.gov/acp. Those who need to talk to someone about their eligibility or application status should call the ACP helpline at (877) 384-2575.
Sincerely,
