Welcome to another great year at Hemingway Elementary School! We are proud of our experienced and dedicated staff and our enthusiastic learners!
We have many great things in store for our students this year. We have been preparing for the return of our students for the last few weeks and welcome them back with open arms.
I am excited to share with you that we are officially, a Leader in Me School! “The Leader in Me is a whole-school improvement process based on the idea that everyone can be a leader. This evidence-based approach empowers students with the leadership and life-skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.” As the school year continues, staff members will receive additional training as we introduce our students to the 7 Habits. We are enthusiastic as we embark on this journey with our students!
I feel it is important for you to know where our focus remains. As a school, Hemingway Elementary will continue our focus on using data as a tool to drive instruction. We will be gathering, overlapping, and organizing different categories of data to get a better picture of how to improve learning for all students. We will be using that data to meet our students where they are academically as we work continuously to build a strong academic foundation focused on college, careers and citizenship.
Parents, as we continue our focus, we need your help. We need you to come out and assist us in any way possible. You can sign up to be a volunteer at the school, join and attend PTO meetings, engage with our faculty and staff at parent teacher conferences, and even volunteer as a guest speaker focused on career awareness and or increasing character awareness.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas you would like to discuss. I look forward to continuing our partnership as we work to educate your child.
