English Language Learner Program
The English Language Learning Program of Williamsburg County School District identifies and serves the linguistic and academic needs of students who enter the district with limited English proficiency. These students are considered Limited English Proficient (LEP) and are identified as English Language Learners (ELLs). These students are protected by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as other subsequent legislation and court rulings, from discrimination with regard to their education. English Language Learners are entitled to equal access to instructional support, extracurricular programs, services, and activities within the district.
Williamsburg County School District’s ELL Coordinator and Title III Compliance Administrator is Debbie Ipock, who is responsible for helping schools understand the legal requirements for our program and to ensure that students receive appropriate services including screenings, yearly language assessments, classroom accommodations/modifications, and updated information about ELL requirements. Mrs. Ipock works with school administrators, school counselors, classroom teachers, instructional assistants, and all school personnel to provide professional development and support to ensure that the needs of ELL students are being met.For more information, please visit these websites:
